Back in 2004, Juan and Karen, Gmaids\u2019 Founders, lived in San Francisco and worked to pursue their dreams. One day they received something they did not expect, something that would help this young couple to make one of their dreams come true, move to another state and start a new life to start their own business. An unexpected friend, a middle-aged Latino who hired Juan to work on his car, was also a patient with terminal cancer. He was in the middle of fighting his illness when he suddenly decided to gift them this car! Juan, with his knowledge of mechanics from previous studies, repaired it and then, Karen managed to sell it over. “I remember going to the public library to list this vehicle on Craigslist in hopes to find it a good owner worthy of its history and effort put behind,” she recalls.<\/span><\/p>\n

With that start-up money, they moved to Dallas, and there they rented their first apartment. Here begins the story of Gmaids, and how its founders tested and researched on different cleaning products. They found that green cleaning products had the same cleaning properties as those with toxic chemicals and also had no consequences on people’s health. Since then, Gmaids has been able to clean customers’ homes using organic, eco-friendly, and fragrance-free cleaning products, avoiding allergies and respiratory problems at home and thus improving the quality of life of families, and also contributes to the care of the environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Juan and Karen, always remember this kind cancer patient and how he identified potential in others and saw a problem that they could kindly turn into a blessing. \u201cWe want to give back to our community while they fight their battle into recovery every day,\u201d states Karen. That is why Gmaids we teamed up with Cleaning For A Reason, an international non-profit organization that unites different house cleaning companies and cancer patients for a single cause: focus on the home so that Patients can focus on their health. \u201cOur vision is to improve the quality of life of families and this partnership certainly embraces and brings it to life,\u201d adds Karen. <\/span><\/p>\n

In this way, Gmaids books green cleaning services for cancer patients residing in the Dallas area,  two homes per month for two consecutive months without charge. Gmaids is happy to donate time to help the community and support the cause of Cleaning for a Reason because the impact of a clean home on a patient affects both emotionally and physically.
