Happy Fourth of July! Events to Celebrate Independence Day

We like to offer you different options so that you can share with your family and friends on special dates, and if you have not yet decided what the plan will be for this 4th of July, these are the options we have for you.

FREEDOM CELEBRATION AT LEGACY HALL

From July 3 to 6, you can celebrate and enjoy the Fourth of July at Legacy Hall with four days of music, drinks, and fun, admission is free. They will have the July 4th favorites like Carlton Provisions BBQ, Degenhardt’s Brat Haus potatoes, Roots Chicken Shak fried chicken with duck fat and more. Adults can cool off with a limited edition of Freedom Margarita, while children drink Big Red ice cream floats and Big Blue from Haute Sweets at Legacy Hall.

4TH ANNUAL ‘MERICA THE BEER-TIFUL CELEBRATION

In the Texas Ale Project Taproom will celebrate on July 4 with a fireworks show, draft beers, food games from Munchie Street and live music by Jes Spiers and Justin Pickard. Doors open at 4 pm and live music starts at 7 pm. Admission is free, you can bring chairs and children and dogs are welcome.

ADDISON KABOOM TOWN!

For more than three decades, Addison Kaboom Town!® has been named among the best fireworks shows in the country. The spectacular show was named as the second Independence Day fireworks event by Yahoo.com, and is ranked as one of the 10 best fireworks shows in the country by USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Travel magazine + Leisure and the American Pyrotechnic Association.

The celebration takes place throughout the city, an air show and fireworks show lasting 30 minutes and a party on the main stage of Addison Circle Park with the famous band Emerald City. The doors open at 4:00 p.m. and admission to Addison Circle Park is free and is granted in order of arrival.

FIVE ON THE 4TH

Celebrate Independence Day on the right foot, for the second year it arrives at Klyde Warren Park, Five on the 4th, which benefits the Metropolitan Dallas YMCA. An event for the whole family, including pets.

  • 5-Mile Run (8:00 am)
    A picturesque run course through Uptown and the beautiful Turtle Creek neighborhood. Please note, there is a 1.5-hour time limit (18-minute per mile pace or better).
  • 5K Run (8:30 am)
    New for 2019, run or walk your way through the heart of Uptown. Please note, there is a 1-hour time limit (20-minute per mile pace or better).
  • 2-Mile Walk (8:45 am)
    Come get some steps in on our 2-mile Uptown walk course. All ages are welcome to participate. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you on the 2-Mile walk course.
  • Kid’s Race (10:00 am)
    Kids ages 12 and under are welcome to participate.

OLD FASHIONED FOURTH – PRESENTED BY DALLAS HERITAGE VILLAGE

July 4, 10:00 am – 10:00 pm

Children under 12 years old attend for free. Dress in red, white and blue, take a picnic basket and celebrate our nation’s past. In Dallas Heritage Village you can explore the town and chat with costumed characters. Bring a cart or tricycle (no motorcycles or scooters) decorate it at the art station and be part of All-Join-In-Parade at noon. Test your modern skills in a variety of Victorian-era games, including the Junior Historians Carnival and his famous pony stick career.

The Parlor will be open for the littlest ones to play in. Stop in the Saloon for some cold root beer and a game of cards or dominoes. A live reading of the Declaration of Independence will end the day.

FAIR PARK FOURTH

Fair Park will celebrate Independence Day as a family with music, games, crafts, fireworks, and much more, admission is free.

The State Fair of Texas Midway–featuring several rides, games, and concession stands—will open at noon. You can purchase Midway admission tickets at the entrance gates for $8, or at BigTex.com for $5 (the cost of rides, games, and concessions will vary). During this Fair Park Fourth event, all proceeds from the Midway will go to the Big Tex Scholarship Program.

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE

Exchange Club of Lake Highlands is hosting their annual 4th of July Parade and Carnival. This free event includes live music, entertainment, games, animals (ponies), and a parade with children on decorated bikes and trikes, businesses with floats, and Dallas Fire-Rescue trucks. Food and beverage (nonalcoholic) will be provided.
